Kendyl will be 6 years old on Tuesday.
Gramps and I went to GA for the festivities. Josh and Diana hosted this party at Chuck e Cheese.
What a place!
The kids loved it!
So many different things to do!

This was the high light for me! As long as the child peddled the peddles he or she remained aloft. When he or she stopped peddling the craft returned to the floor. The kids loved it!

On February 14th Bill and I ventured north to visit Julie and Kaison.

Julie said that the monkey was his favorite toy at the moment. It sings "If You are Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands". And it claps it's hands! Very cute. But not as cute as Kaison. :)
The visit was WAY too short, but we enjoyed every minute!

Well, I mentioned to Ted that Jack had done some figuring on the calculator about the state of the economy.

Ted said, "Grammie? let me take a look."

Since I think it is always a good idea to get a second opinion, I let him have a go at that calculator.

He took his time.

And, thought it looked like Ouijas board stuff to me, ....

He said he was being very serious and that I should trust him.

Then!

He took that 'ole' calculator and tossed it on the floor.
He said, "Grammie? get your self a new computer and get with it!"
Then in a kinder tone, he said,

"Hang in there Grammie, the best is yet to come!"

Man! I love that boy, too!

He fiddled and computed and fidgeted a bit.

Then he came to a conclusion.
He said, "Grammie? Everything is going to turn out all right."

Jase waited to celebrate his 4th birthday with us! He was born on the second of December. The party was held on the 6th this year. We headed south for the fun.

The kids' party places are huge warehouses filled with inflated "bouncy" toys. Slides and bouncy rooms are the order of the day. The kids can run and jump to their hearts content.

The guests assemble for a quick snap shot under Spider Man.

Then it is time for cake and ice cream.

I keep checking this site and there are no new posts!
How can 3 weeks have passed with out a post about Jack's 1st birthday?
It happened!
Well.........

Jack had his very first birthday party. He was presented with some wonderful gifts. And I can testify that he is enjoying them. He really gets into playing with them.

Jack didn't keep the hat on too long. :)

His cousin, Ted, was visiting and sported a Birthday hat, too.

Jack thought he could snap a few "pics" before unwrapping his gifts.

He had lots of help with his gifts from Matthew and Jake. Aren't cousins a wonderful thing?

And then my battery died! Talk about a horrified Grammie!

They also have some very nice photos of the entire group that gathered. It really was a fun day. The weather cooperated and everyone had a great time.

With this ever expanding family, it seems birthdays crop up every few weeks! Well maybe not that frequently.
We had two "mile stone" birthdays back to back. Great Gram Ruth turned 90 on September 25th and Jack celebrated his first birthday on October 4th.

Kim and Anne brought the cake. Fabulous!

Great Gram is well known for her knitting expertise and her yummy chocolate chip cookies. The "fox" is included, because Great Gram and her friend Joyce have been "foxy" since they worked together at the Town Hall. They began calling each other "Foxy" when they pulled off another surprise gift or party for their families.

Our party theme was "the decades". We had 'fun facts' and photos from each decade on the tables. There were over 90 photos of Great Gram Ruth and her family through the 90 years of her life. We had a novel method of displaying them :)

Some family and friends came from great distances to honor and visit with Great Gram Ruth.

Christopher came in with a friend from NYC.

Allan and Dianne flew in from Oregon for the fete.

Jan made apple and grape jelly for party favors. She worked out the seating arrangements. She gave a marvelous "toast" to Great Gram. She and Milton provided transportation for Flora so that she could attend.

It seems folks really enjoyed themselves. We have heard back from guests that they were honored to have been included and they had a great time. :)

I will post about Jack's birthday later.

Let me just say ...my camera stopped working 1/2 way through the party! I will be relying on others for cake photos and gift photos. Kim and Anne should have some great photos of everyone in a group photo.

On Saturday we celebrated with Julie and Jerimey as they await the arrival of Kaison. Kaison is slated to arrive on the scene toward the middle to end of October. We can hardly wait!

Tina, with the help of Diana, put together a 'scrap booking shower'. The guests had fun selecting decorations for pages that Julie will add photos to when she has some of Kaison.

Some guests were very practiced and skilled at scrap booking.

Some of us were new at the craft and enjoyed the introduction to such a fun project.

There were babies to enjoy.

We had quite a gathering.
As you can see, Jack was practicing his "downward dog".
Chris, Kim, Anne, and Jack presented me with a cell phone. Dragging me kicking and fighting into the 21st century. I can no longer say I'm the only person in the US of A without a cell phone. Hmmmmmm
Kate, Pat, and that new baby, Ted sent a pretty necklace, very artsy and very cool.
Kendyl, Jase and their Mom and Dad sent the cutest "Grandma" plate and cup. I'm liking the concept of "Fairy Grandmother" who grants wishes and dispenses kisses. I'm pretty good with the kisses. I'm not so sure about the granting of wishes. :)After lunching and lots of gift giving and gift receiving, some of us went for a walk to celebrate the fabulous sunshiny afternoon.

Well, I guess y'all know where I've been.

While I was on that extra special visit, Ted's Great-Grandmother took a bit of a tumble and broke her arm in two places! She's a lefty and, you guessed it, she broke her left arm.
Chris and Kim gathered the rest of the family and friends and they, collectively, held the fort until my return. :)
Everyone has been helping out since my return, as well.
It has left me precious little time for blogging.

While Anne and Kim were here last week end, they uploaded some great photos and I feel the need to share!

At the after Christmas sales, Christine bought a "Santa" pan for me. It is the type that Santa is sitting up.
She got all fired up that I should make a Leprechaun cake for St. Patrick's Day. (note a raised eyebrow on me as I say that!)

So! I baked a Dunkin Hines chocolate cake and Christine and I dove in! I wish we had asked Bill to get a photo when we were 1/2 of the way into this project. ( It is hard to work when you are laughing that hard)
There was leaning and finally Santa-Leprechaun pitched forward. Gram arrived in a nick of time (no pun intended) and applied 'gold' from 'the pot of gold' to the base of Santa-Leprechaun.
To which he responded by tipping back!
We settled him down for a long winter's nap and finished him up.
Topped him off with a proper hat.
Lots of laughter and well, he doesn't look half bad! Chris says it is the beard, but I think it is the hat that gives him that Leprechaun look.
I definitely need to work on my technique with the green coat frosting!

The "March Birthdays"

This is a special year for the celebration of the "March Birthdays". Julie celebrated her 30th !
We surprised her on Friday the 7th.Jules was surrounded by loving family and friends. :)And was helped with blowing out the candles by Will, ever eager to help out with cake. :)
On Saturday we pulled together another party for the "March Birthdays" proper.
Chowder, clam cakes, steamers and lobster were the main attractions for dinner...well for the afternoon of munching. :) Tina has a fabulous recipe for chowder that was once again a big hit.
Bev, Dave and Great Gram arrived for the festivities.Julie appreciated her new step ladder.Will loved his new Knight Armor.And we all enjoyed the grand kids. :)

She and I went to Kim's and Anne's to baby sit for Jack while Anne ran some errands with her parents. So I got my Thursday visit in!
This week I'll miss the Thursday photo session. (Jack is probably relieved!)

We also had to get a photo of the "Smart as a Fox" tea-shirt to send to Great Grammie's Foxy friend. :)

Tomorrow is Thursday and I won't see Jack!
Seems like since he was born on a Thursday I've had the pleasure of his company almost every Thursday.
Monday was his 4 month check up. He weighed in at 19 lbs and 10 oz. He is 26 3/4 inches.
He likes to blow bubbles and give folks the 'raspberries'.
He's got the best blue eyes! And baby, when he smiles!

Maybe I'll see him on Friday. :)

On Jack's 18 week-a-versary he was adopted by his Mom, Anne. Those of us that could, packed off to family court to witness the proceedings.
Of course, Kim is still his Mom. Now Jack has two parents, a very desirable situation. :)
Jack's grandfather, Jack was in attendance along with Grandma Nancy ( I've forgotten what she wanted to be called ... Maybe it was Nana). Christine May, Great Grammie and I were the rest of the witnesses.
I must say it was the best court experience I have had! Everyone was so nice. The bailiff took photos at the bench and the judge was so agreeable!
After the legal part of the day, we headed to Kim + Anne's for a little visiting. Then off to the Longhorn Steak House to celebrate with Gramps.
This was a pretty nice way to spend your 18 week-a-versary, huh? Jack?

Gramps and Jack got along famously. :)

My youngest Grandson had his 2 month check-up yesterday.
He weighed in at 15 pounds and 11 ounces.
He is 24 1/2 inches tall. (Isn't that 2 feet + ? ! ) I'm only 5 feet and a couple of inches! LOL He'll be taller than his Grammie when he is in kindergarten! :)

Two months?
Wow!

All that waiting and now the time is just flying by.

Just had to get my weekly photo op. Spent a little quality time with Jack's Mom and by the time I got the camera out, Jack was back to "sleepy time." Though you can't see them , his eyes are a beautiful shade of blue. :)

Does this woman appear to be happy about being a "grand ma"?

For My Squirrel

My tomato plant is looking pretty good.
I will have a nice harvest for the Squirrel soon. :)
There are two tomatoes and at least two more flowers headed toward fruit!

Speaking of squirrels ....
If you want a Halloween costume that will last you your entire life, ask Gram to make you a squirrel costume. :)
Cory did just that when she was just a bit of a girl. It still fits! LOL
What a great sense of humor that girl has!
In all fairness I should also present a more flattering photo of such a beautiful niece.
Enough about squirrels for now. :)

The two Jack's finally meet.
Jack Lagrow is 5 months old, born on June 20th.
Jack Wallbillich is 7 weeks old, Born on October 4th.

Bill and I were blessed to have 21 guests dine with us for Thanksgiving dinner. Family and friends. Folks we have not seen in a while and some we see at least once a week. It was so much fun to watch the younger generation interact, connect and some re-connect.
